It showed the difference between the approach from the <strong>family needs<\/strong> point of view (which we see here) and the approach from the <strong>therapist\u00b4s priorities point of view.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In PIMT(<em>Pediatric Integrative Manual Therapy<\/em>) we emphasize the importance of centering our attention on the family. What I really liked was the importance this theory put on interferences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are interferences?<\/strong> They are any obstacles to a full recovery. They are not the main problem. The origin is not the stiffness in the neck, or the lack of vestibular perinatal stimulation, therefore it is not usually the cause for the treatment. These interferences could be anything around us, habits, school, relationships\u2026in fact, anything which makes recuperation more difficult.<\/p>\n<p>These interferences could be poor nutrition with an excess of sugars, eating in front of the TV, or simply excessive time in front of any screen during the day. It could be a lack of movement or a lack of developmental stimulation. It could be a lack of sleep, a lack of boundaries or even a lack of affection in the family.<\/p>\n<p>So I decided to pay more attention to these interferences, identify them, prioritize them in my treatment plan and in <strong>my strategies of action and education in the family.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good luck with your wonderful work!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The other day I was reviewing a pediatric physiotherapy text by Long, when I came across a theory that I really liked.
