Children who jump, run, spin\u2026 all day long. <br\/>And still,\u00a0<strong>they don\u2019t regulate. They don\u2019t learn better. They don\u2019t connect more<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because <strong>not all movement builds.<\/strong><br data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"277\"\/>Moving without purpose can be noise. Agitation. Even escape.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when the body moves with intention, with presence, with rhythm and direction\u2026<br data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"425\"\/>Then <strong>the vestibular system becomes a bridge.<\/strong><br data-start=\"469\" data-end=\"472\"\/>Between the body and emotion. Between physical balance and internal stability.<br data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"553\"\/>Between scattered thought and sustained attention.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A system that is woven over time\u2026 and with purpose<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>vestibular system<\/strong>, that \u201corgan of balance\u201d hidden in the inner ear, is a sensory network activated with every spin, tilt, and sway.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is formed before birth, but <strong>its integration is built over years<\/strong> through <strong>rich, varied, intentional movement<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/38275423\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bo\u017eani\u0107 Urban\u010di\u010d et al., 2023<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is not enough to move a lot. <strong>It is necessary to move well. To move with feeling.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why do some children move constantly\u2026 and don\u2019t improve?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many children with ADHD or sensory difficulties present with <strong>motor hyperactivity<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1178\"\/>But studies show that <strong>without vestibular integration<\/strong>, this movement doesn\u2019t calm, focus, or build.<br data-start=\"1276\" data-end=\"1279\"\/>It only exhausts (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/300899\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MacLean &amp; Baumeister, 1982<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vestibular system doesn\u2019t just need quantity of movement. It needs <strong>quality<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Movement with orientation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With body presence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With clear sensory feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When movement guides, the brain responds<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The vestibular system projects onto <strong>the thalamus, the limbic system, and the hippocampus<\/strong>: key nuclei for <strong>emotion, memory, and attention <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/24376403\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wiener-Vacher et al., 2013<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In children with and without disorders, directed vestibular stimulation can <strong>improve motor planning, emotional regulation, and sustained concentration<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/38275423\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bo\u017eani\u0107 Urban\u010di\u010d et al., 2023<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cases that inspire<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a clinical study, children with cerebral palsy who received <strong>meaningful vestibular stimuli (rocking, directed spinning, swinging with presence)<\/strong> <strong>achieved motor and cognitive<\/strong> progress beyond what was expected for their profile (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/25995606\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nurs Pract Today, 2015<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Even in babies without alterations, well-guided vestibular stimulation <strong>accelerates postural development<\/strong> and improves self-regulation from the first months (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/24581495\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lobo et al., 2014<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>So then\u2026 what kind of movement do we need?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not about <strong>moving more<\/strong>, but <strong>moving better<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"2457\" data-end=\"2460\"\/>The vestibular system is not activated by just any kind of movement: it needs that movement to <strong>have direction, rhythm, pause, and purpose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a huge difference between a child who <strong>jumps nonstop because they can\u2019t calm down<\/strong>, and one who <strong>spins on a steady swing, in a safe environment, while feeling their body and regulating their emotion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because it\u2019s not the same\u2026<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Moving without pause\u2026 as moving with <strong>rhythm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spinning out of control\u2026 as spinning with <strong>orientation and stable gaze<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jumping to escape the body\u2026 as jumping to <strong>explore space<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overflowing\u2026 as <strong>finding an internal axis<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>movement that regulates<\/strong> invites <strong>body awareness, contact, shared play, inner balance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>movement that builds<\/strong> is not automatic, but felt.<br data-start=\"3217\" data-end=\"3220\"\/>It is <strong>accompanied<\/strong>, <strong>structured<\/strong>, and has a <strong>beginning<\/strong>, a <strong>development<\/strong>, and a <strong>close<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"3299\" data-end=\"3302\"\/>It doesn\u2019t overwhelm: it <strong>organizes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A call to move the body\u2026 and the soul<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vestibular system <strong>not only supports physical balance<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"3442\" data-end=\"3445\"\/>It also provides the foundation for <strong>emotional security<\/strong>, <strong>mental presence<\/strong>, and <strong>cognitive structure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, more than ever, children need spaces where they can move <strong>with purpose<\/strong>,<br data-start=\"3623\" data-end=\"3626\"\/>not as escape\u2026 but as construction.<br data-start=\"3661\" data-end=\"3664\"\/>Because when movement is meaningful, <strong>the body calms, the brain learns\u2026 and the child flourishes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>References<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bo\u017eani\u0107 Urban\u010di\u010d N. et al.
